Coronavirus Northern Ireland: Three further deaths and 276 new cases reported

Malaysia has recorded 2,461 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 280,272. There are 23 people in hospital and nine in critical care.

There were also six more deaths.

It's the fourth day in a row that more than 40 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Limerick.

Seventy-two COVID-19 variants have now been confirmed in B.C. - 50 of which are the United Kingdom variants, 20 the South African variant.

There are now 206 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Manitoba, down by seven. It pushes the five day average for new cases up to 21 per day.

The provincial five-day test positivity rate dropped to 5.7 per cent on Friday, along with the test positivity rate in Winnipeg, which dropped to 4.2 per cent.

Another 31 of the new cases on Saturday are in the Winnipeg health region, the release says, while the remaining new cases are split between the Interlake-Eastern health region (three) and the Southern Health region (two).

Johnson County reported 748 new cases, for a total of 13,634 since March.

Dix said that these numbers show that COVID-19 is everywhere and that people should not be attending karaoke or trivia events in person, when these can be done virtually.

"With highly effective vaccines being administered throughout B.C., we have every reason to feel encouraged", she said.

About 4,000 residents in 55 personal care homes have received their second doses of vaccine this week.

There have been 12,223 deaths at nursing and personal care homes. The province's website said this is done to ensure the virus was not transmitted in the final days of the case's isolation, for a total of 24 days of self-isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, 2,129 individuals within facilities have died due to the virus.

Pennsylvania health officials urge people to continue to exercise caution when in public - mainly by maintaining social distance and wearing masks.
