As previously reported bytheGrio, the California woman known as "SoHo Karen" for falsely accusing a Black teen of stealing her cell phone and subsequently attacking him at a New York City hotel, has been arrested after almost two weeks.
According to Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Ponsetto got all the way home where she refused to exit her vehicle - and had to be dragged out by deputies.
Miya Ponsetto, 22, was jailed Thursday in Ventura County, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office there said.
She added, "I admit yes, I could have approached the situation differently or maybe not yelled at him like that and made him feel.as if I was like hurting his feelings".
Next, she will be extradited to NY, though the precise charges she is faced with remain unclear.

Despite her apology, things escalated slightly when King pushed back and tried to hold Ponsetto accountable.
Ponsetto became dismissive and combative when King challenged her claims. Instead, she drove for two blocks before pulling over, then refused to leave the vehicle.Читайте также: British singer MF Doom dies at age of 49
Security video later released by the NYPD shows Ponsetto frantically grabbing at the teen as he tried to get away from her through the hotel's front door. But her actions did not rise to the level of a crime, she insisted. She clutches him from behind, and both tumble to the ground. Seemingly unaware of the racial and power dynamics at play, Ponsetto claimed she didn't target Keyon Harrold Jr., the teenager she had accused of theft, but that she was asking people who were exiting the lobby of the hotel if they had taken her phone.
On January 6, 2020, two New York Police Department officers went to California to ask help from cops in Los Angeles, California to find Ponsetto.
Ponsetto then offered, "I don't feel that that is who I am as a person".
Keyon Harrold Jr.'s father has said the family is seeking trauma therapy for their son as a result of the incident.
Ponsetto continued to try and defend her actions and said, "I consider myself to be super sweet".
"So, basically, I'm a 22-year-old girl", she starts.
"The phone in question was later returned by an Uber driver â€" Ponsetto had left the phone in his vehicle.
"You're 22 years old, but you are old enough to know better", King replied.
Ghatan said she "specifically" asked her client to take off the hat before the interview. As for her phone ... that was later found in an Uber and returned to her.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
