A second Capitol Police officer died over the weekend: 15-year veteran Howard Liebengood reportedly took his own life Saturday. It's unclear if his death is related to siege of the building.

Supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump are confronted by Capitol Police officers outside the Senate chamber inside the Capitol building in Washington on January 6, 2021.

Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman, identified by CNN reporter Kristin Wilson, can be seen getting rioters to move away from the Senate as police raced to secure the chamber.

Capitol Police officer Daniel Amendola said he encountered Leffingwell while forming a barrier with other officers to block a crowd from entering the Senate wing of the Capitol through a first-floor window, according to a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. "We ask that his family, and other USCP officers' and their families' privacy be respected during this profoundly hard time".

Titans’ Derrick Henry becomes eighth player to rush for 2,000 yards
Henry's 227 rushing yards in Week 17 were the most in a finale to top 2,000 yards out of any of the eight players on the list. Watson threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns with an interception as the Texans (4-12) dropped their fifth in a row.

Officer Brian Sicknick died Thursday from injuries sustained the day before, when the pro-Trump mob violently stormed the Capitol. The police union chairman called it a "tragic day". One of the rioters was shot and killed by Capitol police, and three other rioters died as a result of medical emergencies, police said. The death of Officer Howard Liebengood, who was on duty during the attack, was announced Sunday.

During the struggle, Mr Sicknick, 42, was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, two law enforcement officials said.

It took hours for authorities to reassert control of the building with Capitol Police eventually getting help from the National Guard as well as local police and federal law enforcement agencies.
