Pep Guardiola: Sam Allardyce is a genius

Manchester City stormed to the top of the Premier League on Tuesday with a 5-0 demolition of West Brom to extend their winning streak to 11 games.

There's been action aplenty at The Hawthorns this term, as six (66.67%) out of West Brom's nine home league games have produced over 2.5 goals, including each of the last four.

However, the appointment of Sam Allardyce has so far done little to boost West Brom's chances of survival as they remain second from bottom, six points off safety.

Manchester City are unbeaten in ten league games (W8, D2), and a win here would return them to the PL summit.

Allardyce is aiming to maintain his record of never being relegated as he attempts to save the second-from-bottom Baggies from the drop.

"It's not easy to take over a team during the season, but against Wolves, Liverpool and some other clubs he's got good results".

"I'm incredibly proud. The players they brought on from the bench and the way they celebrated the goals tells you something". If we get results against [City] it would be a shock.

Korean diplomat defects to S. Korea
A former North Korean diplomat in Kuwait is reportedly staying in South Korea after entering the country in 2019. The Yonhap news agency confirmed Ryu had defected but said it could not confirm the timing.

On the back of a sublime run, Manchester City is now placed in the second spot on the Premier League standings with 38 points, just two points behind table-toppers Manchester United.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City midfielder was in charge at Stamford Bridge for just over 18 months, but leaves following five defeats in eight games with ex-Paris St-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel expected to take over.

However, Aguero who is City's all-time top scorer, is yet to score in the Premier League this season and has played just 31 minutes of top-flight football since his last start on 24 October. After we see what happens.

"Now we are not top of the league and the difference (to) third, fourth, fifth and sixth is so close, so narrow". I know how good Allardyce teams are at set-pieces and throw-ins and corners.

But the efforts of the team were highly praised by many including Pep who in a post match interview said: "A big compliment to our opponents and I said that to Michael (Duff), they have a fantastic team who defend so compact and they fight as one". They attack the channel because they have incredibly fast players up front, but at the same time you have to look for the weak spots.

"When we have played the same games, we will see".
