Michael Strahan Tests Positive for COVID-19

Strahan did not beam into the GMA Thursday morning broadcast, as had been previously reported.

"We know that you have noticed that Michael has not been here with us this week", said Roberts.

This was posted before the National Football League game on Sunday, so he could be feeling worse now than he did then, but he was clearly working even when quarantined at home.

It's unclear how long Strahan will quarantine for but it has been revealed he isn't experiencing major symptoms. He also provides NFL analysis for "Fox NFL Sunday" and appeared on that show remotely during the NFC Championship. He had been caring for his wife, Ali Wentworth, who had tested positive and appeared on GMA to talk about the effects of the virus.

The 49-year-old Strahan has been absent from the ABC morning show all week and it remains uncertain when he will be on again.

But she also noted that he is doing well and plans to return to the show.

Strahan has been a part of "Good Morning America" since 2016 and has been a fixture on FOX Sports' NFL coverage since retiring after the Giants beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
