It added that Khan was overseeing the restoration work at the National Power Control Center.
"Electricity blackout in the country due to sudden drop in the frequency of power transmission system from 50 to 0 in less than a second", it said.
"Systematic restoration of power will be initiated soon", representatives from the Energy Ministry said. In 2015, around 80% of the country was left without power after a key transmission line broke down. "We are told that the technical fault will be restored shortly, Insha'Allah", he said.
