John Boyega, Robert De Niro to star in Netflix’s ‘The Formula’

Nigerian-British actor John Boyega has been tapped for a role in Netflix's original film "The Formula", directed by "The First Purge" and "Burning Sands" director, Gerard McMurray.

"It's the story of a young man from Detroit who becomes an global racing star in the world of Formula One under the tutelage of his mentor with old mob ties", McMurray said in an Instagram post Monday.

Veteran actor Robert De Niro and Star Wars franchise alum John Boyega have teamed up for Netflix's upcoming thriller The Formula.

The other producers are linked to De Niro, such as Berry Welsh, who co-produced the film The Irishman on Netflix.

There will be a new movie on Netflix showcasing the world of Formula One. Not much has been revealed about the project and this post will focus on all the details regarding the film.

"The Formula" is being produced under the brand new Buppie Productions.

What To Expect From "The Formula"?

For his part, Boega became the young star of today's cinema, thanks to Finn's role in the third trilogy of "Star Wars": "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" (2015), "Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi" (2017) And "Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker" (2019).

We believe the movie is set to be a mid-budget thriller, unlike the groundbreaking high production-based movies of Netflix, which includes the likes of Ryan Reynolds's "6 Underground" and Chris Hemsworth's "The Extraction". More than likely, Boyega will star as the F1 driver turned getaway wheelman. He recently starred in the TV anthology series Small Axe.
