The Chevrolet Corvette will be fully-electric by 2035, dropping the petrol V8 engine which has powered the sports vehicle since 1955.
More than half of GM's capital spending and product development team will be devoted to electric and electric-autonomous vehicle programs, GM said.

The high court's action was the first in an expected steady stream of orders and rulings on pending lawsuits involving Trump now that his presidency has ended.

The firm, which is America's largest automaker, has pledged to deliver at least 30 all-electric models "by mid-century" and to ensure that 40 per cent of its USA range is battery electric by the end of 2025.
To power the company's operations, GM said it will use only renewable energy power at its USA facilities by 2030 and by 2035 all of its operations worldwide will use renewable power.
