Over the weekend, 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine had to be thrown out when an employee removed the vials from the Grafton clinic refrigerator in order to access something else and did not return them.

More than 30 staff from the centre are receiving the first dose of the two-shot vaccine Wednesday, and will get the second next month.

According to police, a hospital worker in Grafton, Wisconsin intentionally destroyed 500 doses of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, December 26th.

A Wisconsin health system said Wednesday that 500 doses of coronavirus vaccine that had to be discarded after they were left unrefrigerated now appear to have been deliberately spoiled by an employee.

A pharmacy technician discovered them outside the refrigerator on Christmas morning and immediately notified superiors, Bahr said.

The Moderna vaccine is still viable for 12 hours outside refrigeration, so workers used the vaccine to inoculate 57 people before discarding the rest. Police reportedly recommend charging him with a 1st degree of recklessly endangering safety and adulterating a prescription drug, as well as a charge of criminal damage to property. When asked whether the Maharashtra government would provide free vaccine to the poor if the Centre fails to do so, the health minister said, "We won't leave the poor in the lurch". "Just like we prepare during elections, the same way we need to train each member of all medical teams responsibly", Vardhan said.

"This matter is being actively investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Food and Drug Administration and the Grafton Police Department", Grafton police said.
