"We know Nevadans need help". When payments resume, the department will backdate eligible claims to the week of January 2 and add on the FPUC to ensure claimants do not miss out on any eligible weeks. The Department of Labor has worked closely with the States since CARES was enacted to provide support and assistance in making these payments to all eligible applicants.

Almost 21,000 new claims were filed for the week ending January 2, an increase of 2.6% from the previous week's 20,460 filings, the department said.

If the claimant exhausted benefits on or prior to December 26, they can attempt to complete a certification.

"We will continue to work with States to ensure program integrity and assist in the payment of unemployment benefits to eligible workers who have sacrificed their jobs to defeat the coronavirus".

Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) was funded by FEMA and provided six weeks of supplemental benefits to people unemployed August 1 through September 5 due to COVID. The average claimant has received more than $14,000 in benefits.

Officials with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment said Thursday they believe numerous 41,439 regular unemployment claims filed the week after Christmas were fraudulent.

Provincial health officials said 72,900 lab tests were processed in the past 24 hours, beating yesterday's record of 71,481 tests. School Mental Health Ontario will be providing mental health resources and strategies to support students during this period.

That was much lower than in prior weeks, but the program briefly lapsed in that period after a down-to-the-wire battle between Congress and President Donald Trump over extending it and other aid in a massive spending bill, meaning PUA filings could increase next week.

PUA will be available until March 13, 2021, with phase out provisions. The maximum eligibility for PUA is now 57 weeks.

The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce has paid more than $10 million to the first round of eligible claimants for the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation supplemental benefits.

"Anyone eligible for the supplemental benefit who does not receive it immediately because of the delay in restarting the programs will receive it when their claim is processed", the release said. Meanwhile, traditional unemployment and the other new programs created in the CARES Act - including extended emergency benefits and the additional $600 payments that laid-off workers received for 13 weeks a year ago - were implemented on the mainframe, which was cumbersome reprogram.
