Cyberpunk 2077 developers apologise for shambolic console launch

In a shared post, CD Projekt Red have issued an apology for the performance of the game on PS4 and Xbox One.

However, before any of the exciting stuff above is able to happen, CD Projekt RED need to fix the game first.

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 just before the weekend has been the topic of much debate.

In that mindset, CD Projekt RED apologizes and offers refunds for those that want one, if you bought a console version that is.

Crossley said two "ultra" freezer units will be installed shortly in order to store that specific vaccine . Poe said both vaccines will be administered in double doses , 21 to 28 days apart.

"We would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in outcome, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase", the company wrote. They apologise for not showing footage from those versions before the game launched and say they "should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One".

A glaring omission from the note is an explanation for why CD Projekt RED's management went on record to claim that Cyberpunk 2077 runs "surprisingly good" on last-gen consoles and why it chose to withhold console reviews (although we now know why). Cyberpunk 2077 has already received several updates, and the next one should be here within a week.

For now, the developer says players can expect more patches that address numerous game's most pressing issues on consoles over the next weeks and months.

In a statement on Twitter, CD Projekt RED apologised for the state of the game, vowing to improve the game's performance in the next few months. "Expect more, as we will update frequently whenever new improvements are ready". There will be an update to the game within the next seven days, and there are also two large patches coming in the future - one in January and one in February (fixes are coming for PC players as well). "They won't make the game on last-gen look like it's running on a high-spec PC or next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now", says the statement. If this isn't possible, players can contact the developers directly at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com.
