Golden State Warriors star guard Klay Thompson has suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Warriors would have been desperately hoping for a fully fit Thompson ahead of the upcoming season, with the Warriors looking to make a big bounce-back from their dismal transitional period this year. That also means he will miss all 72 regular-season games in 2020-21.

Thompson now will miss his age 29 and age 30 seasons after being at the peak of his powers in the 2019 NBA Finals prior to tearing his ACL in Game 6.

After missing all of last season to rehab a torn ACL, Thompson now will miss a second full season in order to heal from another devastating injury.
