The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Real Madrid from Lens in the 2011 summer transfer window after Manchester United missed out on the signing of the defender under Sir Alex Ferguson.
But the Brazilian Football Confederation have confirmed Telles is available to face Uruguay in Tuesday's World Cup qualifier via the following statement on their website: "Thiago Galhardo was listed after Alex Telles' tests were positive for COVID-19".
CBF [Brazil's Press Office] report that Telles's latest Covid test is negative, so he will travel to Uruguay.
Telles tested positive at the weekend, but since he's considered to be in the final stage of carrying the virus, and the result was likely due to his previous infection, there was no concern about infecting other teammates.
