Redesigned Apple Watch and Apple Silicon MacBooks coming next year, says Kuo

Known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has recently released a new report, which talked about the performance of the recently launched Apple products.

Well, whether you opt for the GPS + Cellular or GPS-only model, you get the ability to measure blood oxygen levels from the wrist, with the Always-On Retina Display 2.5 brighter than the Series 5, and the S6 System in Package able to power the watch up to 20% faster, too.

Despite initial projections, the iPhone 12 series have seen a robust demand that beat previous estimations. The iPhone 12 BoM comes out to $373 while the 12 Pro's is $406. While many believed the lower priced iPhones would be the big sellers for Apple, this shows that more buyers than expected would rather spend extra for the premium option.

M1-powered MacBooks can run some Windows apps
Apple has started to transition to using its own Silicon in its range of Mac devices, starting with the M1 chip. CrossOver works as a translation layer for Windows apps , allowing them to run on macOS.

He added that purchase intent looks similar to the intent he saw when the iPhone X launched in 2017. In a note to investors, Kuo claims that Apple will be launching additional MacBook models in the second half of 2021. Credit Suisse analyst Matthew Cabral also maintained his Neutral rating and $106 price target on Apple stock, pointing out that wait times to buy certain iPhone 12 models from the company online are getting longer.

Kuo has previously reported that Apple is working on a new 14.1-inch MacBook Pro to replace the current 13.3-inch model, as well as a new 16-inch model which are both expected to arrive in the late second quarter or third quarter of 2021. For the meanwhile, Apple is expected to make use of the direct backlight LCD panels for the given Apple iPad Pro 2021 scheduled next year. About the iPhone 12 sales, Kuo adds that the overall demand for the smartphones is strong; however, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini demand is not as high as was earlier anticipated.

All the usual Apple Watch bells and whistles are there, as well, naturally, including ECG measurements, daily activity tracking, a waterproof design and the ability to stream music and podcasts.
