Georgia To Recount ALL Ballots In The State By Hand

Under Georgia law, the audit requires a by-hand inspection of random samples of official ballots and uses statistical sampling techniques to confirm the results of the election. There are no examples of similar recounts that have overturned leads of that magnitude.

County election officials must begin the hand tally by 9 a.m. Friday and complete it by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, state officials said.

In addition, Raffensperger has faced calls to resign by Georgia's two us senators, both Trump supporters facing close runoff elections that could determine which party controls the Senate next year.

Without specific details or evidence, the statement from the senators says Raffensperger is responsible for "failures" in the election process.

Raffensperger has been under fire from fellow Republicans. U.S. Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler called for Raffensperger, who is also a Republican, to resign from his post.

Both senators are set for runoff elections January 5.

Raffensperger said his office will investigate all claims of voter irregularities.

The U.S. State of Georgia is to conduct a full manual recount of the November 3 presidential election ballots in each county (local government area). With Biden leading Trump by wide margins in key states, none of those issues would affect the election's outcome.

"The only race being recounted is the presidential race".

Trump campaign on Wednesday celebrated the recount decision from the Georgia secretary of state as a victory for "integrity" and "transparency".

Gabriel Sterling, the state's voting system implementation manager, told reporters Thursday afternoon that any such suggestions were untrue.

All eye have now turned to the southern USA state of Georgia where two runoff races will decide which party controls the Senate.

Democrats sued the state of Georgia in August to extend the deadline for mail-in ballots to be received and counted, citing the "pandemic" as a justification.

"I don't think motivation of turnout is a problem down here in Georgia", he said.

A federal law sets what is called the "Safe Harbor" deadline, falling on December 8 this year, the day by which states must submit the victor of the presidential election if they are to be insulated from legal disputes.

They also have concerns that there can be only one review for every 10 audit teams, which they said makes it impossible to monitor the recount in real time. Brad Raffensperger was going to get tested and plans to self-quarantine as a precaution even if his test is negative, Fuchs said. Sterling had said Wednesday that the ballots would be counted by machine. A new scandal involves the Tuesday night ballot processing in Fulton County, where election officials announced that they were finished for the evening of November 3 at 10:30 p.m., and most of the election workers were sent home, along with the election monitors. In such audits, the smaller the margin between candidates in a race, the larger the sample of ballots that must initially be audited. "This will help build confidence...it will be an audit...a recount and a re-canvass all at once". Fewer than 15,000 votes separate the two candidates. 97 out of 159 counties have certified their results, per CNN. The results of the new count from the audit is what will be certified. According to the Associated Press, Trump leads Biden there by 73,620 votes.
