Saline County reports 24 new COVID-19 cases; 812 of 929 recovered

Health officials reported that the state recorded 577 new single-day coronavirus cases.

There have been no new deaths since the last update on Tuesday, said provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and deputy minister of health Stephen Brown in their joint statement.

There are six outbreaks in Niagara, four are in long-term care homes.

Public Health reporting one new death Wednesday, bringing the total number of deaths to 66.

Following is the Saline County COVID-19 update for Wednesday. A total of 103 people have been hospitalized with the virus since March - up from 10 at the beginning of July. However, there continue to be community exposure events at other locations and on flights into and out of the province.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry previously confirmed seven people have died from COVID-19 at Delta Hospital since September 16. There are now 3,608 people under "active public health monitoring", according to Henry and Brown.
