New PlayStation App and Features Showcased, Out Later Today

"Starting later today, the PS App will begin to roll out globally through updates on iOS (12.2 or later) and Android (6.0 or later) mobile devices". However, in that particular case, you can only use it on PS4 and PSVR games - indeed, it will be necessary for the latter if you don't have Move controllers, as the new DualSense controller doesn't emit the same amount of light from the top edge.

The PS5 is set to launch on November 12 for $499.99 in the U.S. and select territories and then on November 19 for the rest of the world.

Sony is also raising forecasts for its fiscal year due to an expected increase in game software sales and an increase in PlayStation Plus sales.

Previously, PlayStation Messages was a separate app, and quite a cumbersome one at that. You no longer need to switch to a different app (PS Messages) to interact with your friends.

Louisiana landfall forecast for Hurricane Zeta, and Florida Panhandle may see flooding
Hurricanes are getting stronger and spinning slower, as they pick up energy from the heat in the oceans due to climate change . Officials noted that Zeta is expected to be a relatively fast-moving storm, possibly mitigating the flood threat.

The focus on communication continues with voice chat.

New features for PS5 - When PS5 arrives, you'll be able to remotely launch games, manage storage on your console if you run out of space while downloading a game, and quickly sign in to PS5 straight from the PS App. As a result, the PS Messages app will be discontinued.

The application has undergone a redesign and now the new home screen will let users see what their friends are playing easily.

As part of the update, Sony said it's looking into feedback regarding changes made to Parties in the 8.00 update.
