Kapil Dev hospitalised in Delhi after complaining of uneasiness

Fans are praying for the speedy recovery of the legendary Indian cricketer, Kapil Dev, after he suffered a heart attack.

The biggest achievement of Kapil is he lead India to the Wold Cup triumph in 1983, when India was considered minnows in limited overs cricket.

Here's hoping all is well at Kapil's end and we wish him a super speedy recovery going forward.

According to the latest reports, Kapil Dev's condition is said to be stable as of now. He was named by Wisden as the Indian Cricketer of the Century in 2002.

The 61-year-old is still regarded as one of the finest all-rounders that the cricket world has produced.

The unfortunate news has left Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and other cricketers shocked and social media is abuzz with wishes for the Haryana Hurricane's speedy recovery.

In an official statement, the hopital confirmed that Dev was admitted to the hospital on the wee hours on Friday morning following a complaint of chest pain. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of the night.

"Currently, he is admitted in ICU and under close supervision." the hospital said in a statement.

Known for his copybook bowling action, Dev made his global debut for the country in 1978 during a One-Day worldwide (ODI) match against arch-rivals Pakistan at Ayub National Stadium.

Dev, who captained India to a historic World Cup victory over the West Indies in 1983, is the only player in history to have both taken more than 400 wickets and scored over 5,000 test runs. He was inducted into the International Cricket Council's Hall of Fame in 2010.
