India Reported 66,732 Cases In 24 Hours,Total Cases Crosses 71 Lakh

On Sunday (11) the country's total coronavirus infections topped 7 million as it added a million cases in just 13 days.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 66,732 new corona cases have been reported and 71,559 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours in the country.

The case fatality rate due to the coronavirus infection has dropped to 1.53 per cent.

The country's COVID-19 caseload stands at 71,20,538.

In all districts, 18 states and territories now have more than 100,000 confirmed cases.

There are 8,61,853 active cases in the country and 6,149,535 cured/discharged/migrated cases.

As India's coronavirus case tally crossed the 70 lakh-mark, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked the government over the handling of COVID-19 situation, saying it is a case study on how not to react to a pandemic.

With a daily increase of 74,383 in total cases, India's tally of coronavirus cases has risen from 6,979,423 on Saturday to 7,053,806 - an increase of 1.1%.

It is believed that the cases might see another upward trend as the festive season begins this weekend. In the case of active case, India is second in the world.
