‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ Trailer Showcases Pride and Courage of LGBTQ Teen

"Everybody's Talking About Jamie" is the film adaptation of the popular musical.

In the first trailer, released to mark National Coming Out Day, Jamie sits in class gazing at pictures of drag queens on his phone as his teacher Miss Hedge (Sharon Horgan) asks the class what careers they plan on pursuing.

The film hits theaters on February 26. "I wanted a son so badly and I got you", his father tells Jamie in the trailer. As Jamie faces uncertainty, the one thing he knows is that he is going to be a sensation, so he learns how to put his drag persona together and stages a drag show.

Stage Production Director Jonathan Butterell is making his feature film debut as a director with script and lyrics by Tom MacRae, songs by Dan Gillespie Sells and a score by Sells and Anne Dudley.

Richard chats to the teenager, played by newcomer MaxHarwood, telling him: "You can't just be a boy in a dress Jamie, it's something to be laughed at" as they stand in his dress shop.
