Armenia ready to talk cease-fire amid Azerbaijan clashes

At least 26 fighters were killed in clashes with the Azerbaijani army in the displaced area of Nagorno-Karabakh, and in fierce battles for more than 25 years, their military death toll increased to 84.

The OSCE is the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The OSCE Minsk Group is tasked with finding a peaceful solution to the conflict.

The two former Soviet states have clashed over Nagorno-Karabakh, an Armenian-controlled enclave internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, for three decades.

The Armenian ambassador was recalled to protest what an Armenian foreign ministry spokeswoman called "Israel's supply of ultra-modern weapons to Azerbaijan".

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged Baku to continue to pursue its offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Given that the USA, Russia and France have neglected this problem for almost 30 years, it is unacceptable that they are involved in a search for a ceasefire", Erdogan said.

The fighting between majority-Muslim Azerbaijan and Christian Armenia has raised fears of a wider conflict involving regional powers Turkey and Russian Federation.

The drones appeared in the provinces of Gegharkunik and Kotayak, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Twitter, adding that the country's air defense forces were able to eliminate them. A Reuters witness in the city saw a glowing object in the sky.

The latest bout of fighting in the contested south Caucasus region of Nagorno-Karabakh began Sunday, with each side blaming the other for starting the shooting.

The president also continued his criticism against the states where ballots are mailed automatically to registered voters . He claims the alternative voting option will cause more instances of fraud and will disproportionately benefit Democrats.

Azerbaijan's prosecutor's office said 12 Azeri civilians had so far been killed and 35 wounded by Armenian fire.

FOUR journalists were wounded as fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh continued today.

A cameraman with the Armenia TV channel and a reporter with the Armenian 24News outlet also were injured in the Martuni shelling, Armenian officials said.

President Vladimir Putin also discussed the matter with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, with both leaders calling for an immediate end to the fighting.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said during a visit to Greece that "both sides must stop the violence" and work "to return to substantive negotiations as quickly as possible".

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh "is a cause for concern for Moscow and other countries".

"However, the whole country should scramble to provide medical assistance, perhaps some pills for certain fantasizing lawmakers", Avakov wrote in a snapping tweet on Friday, apparently hinting at the MP's mentioned statement.

Russian Federation called for an immediate ceasefire, and Turkey said it would support Azerbaijan.

From the perspective of Turkey, France has a clear pro-Yerevan bias, due to the sizeable Armenian diaspora.
