Seven new recoveries were reported, bringing the total to 179. This metric indicates a warning when the 7-day test positivity rate rises above 8%. The number of COVID-19 deaths in Kane County remains at 317. The state considers individuals recovered if their case has not been reported as a death and it has been more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms). These results represent the total number of tests administered. The backlog has been fixed and it resulted in a single-day data dump of nearly 150,000 tests reported.
The backlog lasted approximately two days and drove down test counts, apparently starting Tuesday, Sept. 1.
