Neymar tests positive for coronavirus along with two other PSG stars


The Champions League finalists confirmed that Neymar had tested positive in medical checks carried out as the team returned to training this week, meaning the most expensive player in history will be moved into isolation.

They went on to win both domestic cups in the space of a week but were denied an historic quadruple after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final on August 23.

The club said in a statement that the three players are now "subject to the appropriate health protocol" and that the rest of the squad and coaching staff "will continue to undergo tests in the coming days".

L'Equipe reported the players in question at the time were Argentinian duo Di Maria and Paredes. PSG's delayed Ligue 1 season is scheduled to begin on September 10 away at Lens.

However, media outlet L'Équipe and ESPN say sources have confirmed the 28-year-old Brazilian superstar is one of the players who tested positive. along with his PSG teammates Angel Di Maria and Leo Paredes.
