India's COVID-19 recoveries on a steep upward trend, cross 47.5 lakh

As per the Ministry, the total case tally in the country now stands at 58,18,571 including 9,70,116 active cases, 47,56,165 cured/discharged/migrated and 92,290 deaths. The Health Ministry has said the gap between recovered cases and active cases is progressively growing wide. The active cases have increased to 9,70,116 whereas over 4.75 million have recovered so far.

With this, the total number of recoveries are 47,56, 164.

On the day when India has registered the highest number of tests in a single day with almost 15 lakhs tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the trend of high recoveries continues unabated.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Kerala, Delhi are some of the states that continue to be worst-hit from the pandemic. Andhra Pradesh contributed more than 8,000 to the single day recoveries.

With 86,052 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's coronavirus cases are nearing six million-mark, according to the health ministry updates shared on Friday.

75% of the new cases are found to be concentrated in ten states/UTs.

1,141 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. 83% of these are from 10 States/UTs.

In the last few days, India has seen a significant drop in daily cases, but there needs to be more evidence to suggest whether the nation has surpassed the virus's peak or not.

India has recorded more than 58.1 lakh cases of the novel coronavirus and 92,290 deaths.
