- Catalent Biologics manufacturing facility in Anagni, Italy will serve as the launch facility for the large-scale production and supply of the University of Oxfords Covid-19 vaccine candidate, AZD1222, providing large-scale vial filling and packaging to British-Swedish multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

AstraZeneca issued a statement on Tuesday night saying the late-stage studies of the vaccine had been paused while the company investigated whether a patient's reported side effects were connected to the vaccine.

AstraZeneca also says it can not disclose further medical information because it is the study sponsor, but added in its statement, "All trial investigators and participants will be updated with the relevant information, and this will be disclosed on global clinical registries, according to the clinical trial and regulatory standards".

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt believes there is genuine cause for hope for a vaccine to conquer the coronavirus after the AstraZeneca Oxford trials resumed.

As part of the review process, independent boards overseeing trials of a number of other Covid-19 vaccines were analyzing their own data, looking for cases.

The Ministry's officials said that the volunteers will receive LE 250 for each clinical trial, also a follow-up to check their health will be carried out by phone. These include Pfizer's and a candidate by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.

The trials were paused on September 6 after a patient became ill.

The DGCI had granted SII permission to conduct combined Phase 2 and 3 human trials of Covishield on August 2.

"What we're going to be doing is targeting the vaccine to select groups of people who are at very high risk of a bad outcome from COVID to try to reduce their risk", he said. The Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai said to our colleague Mumbai Mirror, "Trials have resumed in the UK".
