Biden paints Trump as someone who 'sows chaos rather than providing order'

On Tuesday, Trump, who also said last week he would send more federal forces to the city, is set to meet law enforcement and "look at some of the damage from the riots", according to the White House. The temperature in the country is higher, tensions run stronger, divisions run deeper.

"We've arrived at a moment in this campaign we all know, including the president in front of me, knew we'd get to: the moment when Donald Trump would be so desperate, he'd do anything to hold on to power", Biden said.

Saturday's shooting during a pro-Trump rally in the OR city followed a week of countrywide protests over the police shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, of African American Jacob Blake.

Biden's television advertising advantage has been particularly significant in key battleground states.
