Dustin Johnson in pole position to win overdue second major

Johnson said he couldn't find his yardage book during the round, but his brother had a spare book that worked well enough.

One of the biggest threats to Johnson's title prospects will undoubtedly come from Brooks Koepka. Birdies on three straight holes on the back nine gave him a share of the lead prior to a bogey at 18 for a 65.

Confident as ever, Koepka stole a glance at the leading contenders and quickly measured what he has that they don't, specifically four majors.

"I like my chances", said Koepka. This is one of those weeks where I didn't quite make the putts when I needed to, and I missed a couple shots on the wrong sides. "I'm playing good. We'll see".

Of the top six players, Johnson and Koepka are the only major champions.

He had eight birdies in the round, which helped him forget a bogey on the fifth hole and a double on the ninth hole. Cameron Champ, who has the most powerful swing on tour, shot 67 and joined Scheffler 1 shot behind. However, Tiger did gain strokes in every category on the final day for the second time this week.

There have been plenty of close calls for Johnson.

Koepka is aiming to make history this week by becoming the first player in more than a century to win the same major in three consecutive years. "It's simple", Johnson said.

The handset, which has been priced at $349 in the U.S. , is also known to come to India in October later this year. This isn't the first tease that we've received about a foldable Google Pixel device, but sure it is a solid one.

"Those moments, you just have to look back and laugh and appreciate what the game is, because that stuff happens at random points in time in life".

"I like my chances. Just get it done". Turns out he can hit long putts, too. But how can you not love DeChambeau as a live underdog play after his scintillating third-round 66, during which he connected on better than 64 percent of his fairways (an impressive feat given how narrow the landing strips are this week) and gained a whopping 5.1 shots with his putter?

Dustin Johnson watches his tee shot on the 12th hole during the third round of the PGA Championship golf tournament at TPC Harding Park Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, in San Francisco. He made double bogey, dropped two more shots and finished 4 shots out of the lead.

Further, he said the noiselessness might benefit the pups as they navigate Sunday and its pressures without so many pressures coming through the ear canals. Even those who struggled - Rose, Daniel Berger, Tommy Fleetwood all settled for 70 - are only 3 shots behind. Paul Casey said he still didn't feel nerves from the lack of people.

"He's young, though, and that's the kind of golf he plays". It also could make it hard for players to know what's happening around them without any cheers.

The putt was also the longest of his career as he looks on track to better his best finish at a major (T15 at the US Open in 2016). He had to play the last seven holes without knowing his score. The 15-time major victor sat just outside the top 40 when his round ended. Heartbreak in the sand at Whistling Straits just months later at the PGA. He had a 12-foot eagle putt to win the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, only to three-putt for par and a silver medal. He has the power, and on this day, he had the putting.

"I've been in the hunt a bunch of times in a major". I've got one major.

"The reality is that the golf courses are getting bigger".
