Raina, who has a young family including two children, is believed to have told the team management - CEO Kasi Viswanathan, Dhoni and coach Fleming - that he was finding it hard being "cooped up" in a Dubai hotel room.

Chennai Super Kings' Suresh Raina has returned home from the United Arab Emirates for personal reasons.

It is not the first time that the eight-team competition will be held outside India. Raina is said to have found the rules of the bio-bubble claustrophobic and wanted a room with a balcony like the captain.

"The assailants, believed to be the members of "Kale Kachhewala" gang, attacked them with lethal weapons when they were in their sleep", it said.

It is understood that the COVID-19 case load of one franchise (13) has made a lot of players as well as support staff wary about the situation as they remain in bio bubble for next two and half months.

According the sources, the entire team has been quarantined after the development. Raina's sudden exit from the tournament shocked the entire cricket fraternity, which was eager to witness him in action, especially after his global retirement.

The latest on Jacob Blake shooting
Mr Blake is recovering in hospital and is conscious, but his lawyers fear it will take a "miracle" for him to walk again. Lin Wood, who said he was part of Rittenhouse's new legal team, indicated they would argue he acted in self-defense.

India left-hand batsman Suresh Raina joined MS Dhoni in announcing his retirement from global cricket on Independence Day on August 15.

While the sudden decision came as a surprise to everyone, CSK boss N Srinivasan said that MS Dhoni had everything under control. "Chennai Super Kings have always been like a family and all seniors players have learnt to co-exist", said Srinivasan. My heart goes to you. "Ruturaj can become the star of the show, who knows?" said Srinivasan. Only once the squad members clear all the mandatory tests can teams start their training.

The 13th IPL is scheduled to be held in UAE from September 19 to November 10. He also said that the team is trying to get over it as early as possible.

Not just Raina, but several other members of Super Kings contingent have been troubled by the team hotel, which is in a "desolate" part of town.

IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 onwards.
