Taylor Swift Gets Lost At Sea In Stirring, Autumnal 'Cardigan' Video

Though Swift skipped her typical pre-album fanfare ahead of folklore, sleuthing fans quickly identified a few Easter eggs in the short time between the album's announcement and its release.

"You heard the rumors from Inez", she sings at one point in the song.

Today in unneccesary internet beef, Smashmouth (yep, the dudes who brought you All Star) have thrown shade at Taylor Swift's new album folklore and hoo boy, it did not go well for them. She owned it eight years ago.

Taylor and Joe first met and starting dating in either late 2016 or early 2017. Written and recorded in isolation with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner of The National sharing production credits, folklore is an unexpected treat in the middle of a disrupted summer, one whose sepia-toned colour palette and muted production only adds to its magic. The result is, much like Swift's masterpieces Red and Lover, a tonal and emotional mish-mash that, while lengthy, still showcases some of the most nourishing songcraft that modern pop has to offer.

Most Of The GTA Will Officially Enter Stage 3 This Friday
Doug Ford says Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand-Norfolk, Sarnia-Lambton and York Region will progress later this week. Of course, not everyone in the communities that remain stuck in Stage 2 are clamouring to get to the next phase.

"This just made me GRIN, you're the greatest", the singer commented on her post, which has already been liked by over 191,000 fans, including good friend Jennifer Aniston.

In this song, Swift appears to explore the idea of losing someone that was never really yours to begin with.

Directed by Swift herself in quarantine (who also styled herself and did her own hair and makeup), the visual pulsates with the wooded, fantastical implications of Folklore's title, especially as she evokes both Peter Pan and Wendy in the lyrics. There's also the possibility that Taylor and Joe split, according to some theorists-while others are convinced that songs like "Cardigan," released as the album's lead single on July 23, is actually about Taylor's relationship with Joe in the first place. You can't believe a word she says. I just looked her straight in the eye and said, 'No.' I honoured my confidentiality.

Speaking in a fan question and answer session, she said: "No one knew I was making an album". "And I can see us twisted in bedsheets/August sipped away like a bottle of wine/'Cause you were never mine".
