PointsBet and Detroit Tigers join up to enhance fan engagement

The agreement with the league made it possible for the sports book provider to become an official partner of the Detroit Tigers and further enhance fan engagement, utilizing unique experiences, promotions and other content in and around the stadium the Tigers play, Comerica Park.

Sports betting operators DraftKings, Rush Street Interactive and Kambi have recently announced partnerships with tribal casinos in the state. The partnership grants PointsBet with the right to use official Major League Baseball data and logos within its products.

The other major sports leagues and teams in the US are also embracing sports betting.

In the meantime, they'll see PointsBet ads and branding images on Tigers broadcasts, which start in three weeks as Major League Baseball begins a 60-game season shortened by you-know-what.

PointsBet will also be able to advertise their brand during the Detroit Tigers games, as well as be featured on the Detroit Tigers Radio Network.

The deal between PointsBet and the Tigers helped bring the MLB into standing with the rest of the major United States sports leagues.

While land-based MI casinos opened their sportsbooks in March, PointsBet, a mobile-only operator isn't live yet.

The Tigers deal follows two turning points: MI legislators last December OK'd sports and online gambling in MI and Major League Baseball recently authorized PointsBet as its gaming operator.

In January 2020, PointsBet announced that it had partnered with the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians to offer online casino games and sports betting in MI, pending a license. He said: "As we usher in legal and responsible sports betting, we look forward to the fan-friendly enhancements that it will make to the game-day experience in and around Comerica Park".

Ilitch Holdings is the company representing the Tigers, with the group's president Chris Granger commented that the great fans of the Tigers will enjoy the personalized platform of PointsBet as it provides unique experiences as well as innovative offerings.

PointsBet will also have a sponsored presence on the Tigers' digital platforms while also being regularly featured on The Word on Woodward, a twice-weekly live streaming show that airs on the club's channel.
