Biden made the remarks during an online fundraiser for his campaign, during which he identified two countries by name that he said were trying to interfere in America's democratic process.

"We know from just before and I ensure you I know now mainly because now I get briefings again".

Biden has only a short while ago started receiving intelligence briefings, noting at a June 30 party that he "very perfectly may" ask for access to intelligence on stories that Russian Federation had provided bounties to the Taliban for attacks on US and coalition troops in Afghanistan.

China is also carrying out activities aimed at making undermining confidence in the results of the 2020 elections, he added. "Fact", Biden said Friday.

It is normal for presidential nominees of the major parties to have intelligence briefings, though it is not clear when Joe Biden started to receive his.

U.S. intelligence agencies say Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 election with the goal of swaying the contest toward Donald Trump, and officials have warned that there remains a threat of foreign interference in the 2020 contest. Biden lobbed similar charges on Friday, saying Trump may try to "defund the post office so they can't deliver mail-in ballots".
