HBO Max Releases Sneak Peek at Zack Snyder's Justice League

A first look at director Zack Snyder's new cut of Justice League was shared on Thursday morning.

The brief clip features new footage of Diana (Gal Gadot) as she stares at what appears to be a cave painting of Darkseid while we hear Lex Luthor's (Jesse Eisenberg) ominous monologue from the final scene of the theatrical version (is it delivered slightly differently here?). "Get ready for more at DC FanDome", Snyder tweeted, promoting Warner Bros.' just-announced free online fan event planned for August.

Snyder had to step away from filming the original Justice League due to a personal tragedy, and Joss Whedon stepped in to do reshoots and handle post. The 54-year-old wrote: "First ever sneak peek at JL".

Imagine all the Super Heroes and Super-Villains you've ever loved finally coming together in one place to celebrate DC's past, present and future. "Ding dong, the god is dead". We already knew we'd be getting teases for Snyder's Justice League as well as other upcoming DC films like Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, and The Suicide Squad, but this is the first sign that we may be getting a full-blown teaser for the Snyder Cut.

After "Justice League" was panned by fans for its inconsistent tone, comic-book enthusiasts rallied for years - using the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut on social media - to push for the release of Snyder's original version, which was reportedly a much darker take on the material. Ray's part was cut from the theatrical release.

The result will be a four-hour director's cut or a six-chapter miniseries for HBO Max in 2021. The film will be a director's cut of the 2017 DC superhero movie featuring Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as The Flash.
