One area that's been covered a few times is the space combat; ever since the original films' debut, fans have always wondered what it would be like to fly in those very same ships.

Taking starfighter battles inStar Wars to a whole new level beyond Battlefront II, Star Wars: Squadrons has both a single-player story mode and multiplayer modes. Star Wars: Squadron was announced ahead of the event, though the presentation had more in store for viewers than that.

Below are the trailers for games shown during the EA Play Live 2020 event. You'll jump back and forth between the the two sides as the New Republic rises and the Empire fights for survival, able to create and customise your own character on both sides. However, based on what we can see right now Star Wars: Squadrons sounds like it could be a fun multiplayer game that doesn't nickel and dime the player. The various available customization options will unlock as you progress through the game and ranking up your profile. This has been the pattern of every recent Battlefield game with planes and even Battlefront 2's space battles. Ships are customizable as well, and careful planning will go into what class each ship is in a team formation. Single-player, multiplayer, you got it.

The game will come with a budget $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 price point, making it a budget offering.
