Douglas County reports 159 new cases


Monroe County reported three new Covid-19 cases today; and Juneau County, one. Bureau County has had 24 confirmed cases and one death related to COVID-19.

One case is imported, from the US, while the other is a contact of a prior imported case.

A total of 2,986 county residents have recovered from the illness, the DCHD stated.

According to the IDPH data, 70 percent of the reported cases of COVID-19 across the state have been from Caucasians; 8 percent, Asian; 11 percent, African American; 1 percent, Native American; 1 percent, native Hawaiian; and 31 percent, Latino.

Of the 3,494 confirmed cases, 82 people are hospitalized, and 10 patients are in the ICU on a ventilator.

Globally, almost 9.7 million people have been diagnosed at one point with COVID-19 and 491,744 people have died from it.

- Bracken County, there are 15 confirmed cases.

Marshall County has the seventh highest number of COVID-19 confirmed cases.

According to Lewis County Health Department Director Anita Bertram, the newest case, as well as several active cases, are connected to group settings.
