Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed while a CRPF jawan and a Jammu and Kashmir policeman suffered injuries during an encounter in the city's Nawakadal area on Tuesday, police said.
The firing started during a combing operation that followed last night. As per reports, Junaid was a son of a hardline spratist, Ashraf Sehrai.
One Indian Central Reserve Police Force man and two Special Operation Group personnel were injured during the operation in the area. As the joint team approached towards the suspected house, officials said, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off an encounter.

There have been a number of gunfights between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir over the past month.
The other militant killed in the overnight gunfight at Kanimazar area of Nawakadal here has been identified as Tariq Ahmed Sheikh, a resident of Pulwama. The official record states that all 20 local terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen, six of Lashkar-e-Toiba, 11 of Jaish-e-Mohammad, 3 of Ansar Gazwat and three of Islamic State were neutralised by security forces.
