Trump, Cuomo war erupts over coronavirus response

"So if you can't do a party in New York City, you can't do a party in New Jersey, you can't do a party in CT".

The governor appeared annoyed that Trump kept demanding appreciation for federal actions on behalf of the state of NY.

Testing also prompted the latest outbreak-related flare-up between the governor and the president.

President Trump and Andrew Cuomo slung insults at each other on Friday after the NY governor demanded during his daily press conference that the federal government provide the necessary funding for the state to reopen its economy and expand coronavirus testing capacity.

Continuing the shutdown could lower the current infection rate even further, which would give hospitals some breathing room if infections started increasing rapidly again as the state reopens, he said. Mass testing is widely considered crucial to bring people safely back to work.

Trump's plan is a set of recommendations for state governors, some of whom Trump has clashed with during the coronavirus crisis as several have described a fraught process of trying to obtain needed medical supplies from private suppliers without a command-and-control operation emanating from the federal government.

Cuomo says while he is eager to restart the economy, no one should expect that things will go back to the way they were before the pandemic.

"These restrictions that I have laid out must be followed throughout the state", Murphy said last week.

Broncos Von Miller says he was 'shocked' with positive COVID-19 test
I also have asthma, and my girlfriend was telling me that I wasn't sounding normal and that I should try my nebulizer (inhaler). Miller received the results of his test Thursday, and despite feeling some of the flu-like symptoms, is said to be doing well.

"We must STAY THE COURSE", Cuomo tweeted. Get out there and get the job done.

Cuomo said he has repeatedly thanked Trump for supplying aid to NY, including the USNS Comfort hospital ship and a field hospital.

New York, the epicenter of the outbreak, has had at least 213,779 cases, which equates to about one-third of total cases in the U.S. The projected rate of spread for New York state was between 1.2 and 1.45, according to Cuomo.

Due to the US' federal system, each state has its own lockdown rules based on Mr Trump's overall advice.

"All people in public must have a mask or nose covering, mouth and nose covering, and they must wear it in a situation where you can not or are not maintaining social distancing", Cuomo said.

NY reported 606 deaths in the last 24 hours as Governor Andrew Cuomo extended the lockdown until May 15.

When in public, people should stay 6 feet away from others.

The rocky relationship between New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and President Donald Trump continued to play out on Friday as the two traded jabs in a heated exchange. This is the ideal scenario and shows social distancing measures are working.
