The Navy also reported that the USS Paul Hamilton, USS Firebolt, USS Sirocco and USCGC Wrangell, as well as the Puller and Maui, were involved in the exercises.
Trump was referring to an incident that took place on April 15 while US Navy vessels were engaged in exercises as part of their patrols in the region. The ISNA news agency has quoted Mr. Shekarchi as saying, "today, instead of bullying others, the Americans should put all their efforts toward saving those members of their forces who are infected with coronavirus". It was in the middle of these tensions that the IRGC announced that Iran launched its first military satellite, the Nour 1, into orbit at an altitude of 425 kilometers (264 miles).
Israel's Foreign Ministry denounced the claimed launch.
However, such a launch immediately raised concerns among experts on whether the technology used could help Iran develop intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Hyten told reporters the lranian payload "went a very long way".
Despite a United Nations ban on Iran testing ballistic missiles, which can have a military goal, Iran said Wednesday it had launched a military satellite into space. "This is just another example of Iranian malign behavior", Hyten said.

U.N. resolution 2231, which was unanimously passed by the U.N. Security Council in 2015, "called upon" Iran to abstain from the development of ballistic missiles that could deliver nuclear weapons for up to eight years. The American sailors gave multiple warnings to the Iranian ships through bridge-to-bridge radio, five short horn blasts and "long-range acoustic noise marker devices", for an hour before the vessels eventually responded to radio messages and moved away, the Navy said. Rather than immediately resort to the use of deadly force, commanders are expected to act based on the specific circumstances, including the threat to their own crews and adherence to the worldwide laws of warfare.

On Thursday, Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss ambassador, who represents USA interests in the country, over the recent tensions between Washington, D.C., and Tehran, according to Reuters.
In response, the US carried out a strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
The president's directive also comes several months after hostilities between the U.S. and Iran which included an attack at the U.S. Embassy compound in Iraq that U.S. officials blamed on Iran.
No U.S. troops were killed in the attacks in Iraq but more than 100 were later diagnosed with traumatic brain injury.
