Research agency Countpoint has released the list of best selling smartphones worldwide, according to which the iPhone 11, which was launched in September past year, has become the second best selling smartphone.

Despite being the second-largest smartphone maker in the world, Huawei was notably absent from most of the lists. The list of top 10 smartphones globally and top 5 smartphones regionally doesn't include any Nokia smartphones, but there are some devices from which Nokia Mobile might learn something for the future. The iPhone 11's second place position was particularly impressive, given the phone was only on sale for just over three months in 2019.

Samsung's Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A10 rounded out the next spots as the third and fourth best selling phones of 2019, respectively.

The report reveals that the iPhone XR (Review) and iPhone 11 (Review) proved to the star performers for Apple with 3 percent and 2.1 percent market share. Market research firm Counterpoint Research has created a list of the best-selling smartphones a year ago. I would say Apple iPhone XR as it has already made a few headlines and based on the latest report by Counterpoint Research's Market Pulse, the same is true.

On the other hand, Oppo topped the charts in China with the A5 and A9 models and was also boasted the top-selling phone in the Asia Pacific region with its A5s.

The judge added that the government did not oppose its declaration - and had not sought permission to appeal to London's Supreme Court.

The sales figures for previous year were definitely affected by the U.S. trade ban on Huawei.

This means that many of its upcoming smartphones - including the P40 - will likely not offer apps such as Gmail, Chrome, or YouTube pre-installed.

It also said that Google's apps will still be accessible in various ways thanks to the open-source Android operating system. The Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro, which are both budget devices, managed to secure the sixth and the tenth spot on the list.

Omdia reports that the world's top 10 was full of Apple and Samsung devices.

It was the most-sold phone in China in 2019, which contributes to the sales figures. To this end, other manufacturers such as Motorola and OnePlus among others are targeting value buyers with flagship smartphones hitting the consumer market.
