Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made an appearance in the United Kingdom together on Thursday for the first time since announcing they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. According to a tweet from Ship, the two came face to face for "a one-to-one chat-the first they've had since he and Meghan agreed their exit plan".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are taking part in one of their last official engagements together before they quit royal life later this month.

The couple has been spending time in Vancouver since their Megxit announcement.

They did not bring their baby boy, Archie, along for the trip, the Daily Mail UK reported.

The Sussexes entered the awards holding hands, listening attentively as they waited to present awards and for Prince Harry to make a keynote speech about the Endeavour Fund's value.

The engagement marks a final run of royal duties for the couple.

Pleasant start to March
Then, on Friday , a strong cold front blasts through the region, bringing windy conditions and the chance of showers. Showers start this off on Monday , with Tuesday and Wednesday the prime times for the heaviest rain.

With the end-of-March deadline swiftly approaching, United Kingdom taxpayers have been left wondering if they will be stuck footing the couple's hefty security tab, which the Daily Mail has estimated at about 20 million British pounds, or $25.5 million. The couple will also attend the Mountbatten Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall this Saturday before Meghan undertakes an engagement for International Women's Day the following day on Sunday.

Prince Harry and then-fiancée Meghan Markle attend the Endeavour Fund Awards ceremony at Goldsmiths' Hall on February 1, 2018 in London, England.

It is the couple's first official public appearance in Britain following the Megxit crisis and prepares to step down as a senior royal. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use 'SussexRoyal" in any territory post Spring 2020".

The pair will join Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family at the Commonwealth Day service next Monday, March 9, for their last official event as working royals. "This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity", they explained.

The Endeavour Fund is a body set up by the Royal Foundation to finance inspiring sporting and adventure projects aiding the recovery of veterans.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted beaming from ear to ear Thursday afternoon as they stepped out of The Goring, a five-star hotel not far from Buckingham Palace.
