ESPN and TMZ are reporting that one of the five people on board that passed away in the bad accident was 13 year old Gianna, Kobe's second born daughter.

Hundreds of fans gathered Sunday afternoon at L.A. Live Plaza outside Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles following the death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. Our school community will always be grateful for his ongoing generosity to his alma mater, including his dedication of our Kobe Bryant Gymnasium and his support of our boys' and girls' basketball teams. "Much respect my brother", Bryant tweeted Saturday night.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer told KTLA that the helicopter was a Sikorsky S-76.

The Weather Channel reports that low clouds and fog were present in the area at the time of the crash, but the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The recording appears to contradict the president's statements that he did not know Parnas, a key figure in the investigation. The footage from April 2018 was provided by an attorney of Lev Parnas, a USA businessman who was at the dinner.

Kobe was a generational basketball talent with a hoops résumé all his own: 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers, an MVP, a five-time world champion, an 18-time All-Star, and a cutthroat clutch performer. Bryant had three other daughters with wife Vanessa: 17-year-old Natalia, 3-year-old Bianka, and 7-month-old Capri, per People. Witnesses reported hearing the helicopter's engine sputtering before it went down near the home of Kourtney Kardashian.

Bryant entered the National Basketball Association straight out of high school in the 1996 draft, becoming the first guard ever drafted directly out school. Bryant scored 33,643 points in his career, trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone when he retired in 2016. Before the Lakers beat the 76ers in the 2001 NBA Finals, Bryant infamously said he wanted to "cut their hearts out".

News of his death resonated throughout the sports world.

"Looking at my young players and seeing how devastated they are - they knew him - this is just shocking news for us".
