Democrats have accused Trump of abusing his power by withholding US$391 million (S$532 million) in security aid to Ukraine - a USA ally facing Russian aggression - to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to announce the investigation.

President Trump's conduct described in the testimony and evidence clearly constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under the Constitution.

Three legal experts called by the Democrats said Trump indeed merited removal from office. However, what exactly constitutes "bribery" in the impeachment context is not clear cut.
