The plane, a multi-engine Piper fixed-wing aircraft, crashed into the parking lot of a post office before it came to rest in the open.
Carley was the daughter-in-law of LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger.
Several players embraced Ensminger before the game. Steve and his wife, his family are so distraught.
Those killed in the crash have been identified as McCord, Ian Biggs, Robert Crisp II, Gretchen Vincent and one teenaged passenger.
There were three others injured who were not passengers.

Louisiana sports reporter Carley McCord, 30, is among the five victims who have died in the plane crash. "Carley's passion for sports journalism and her deep knowledge of Louisiana sports, from high school to the professional ranks, made her an exceptional journalist". The driver of that auto has reportedly died, and another bystander was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Cheyenne Partners LLC, a company based out of Lafayette, owns the plane.
A auto in the lot was hit by the plane, another witness said.
The Piper Fixed Wing Multi-Engine airplane crashed in the parking lot of a post office, hit a vehicle and slid into a field about 9 a.m. after departing from Lafayette Regional Airport 2.3 miles away.
There were no details about why the plane crashed. "I think he got inverted in the fog and couldn't see", nearby resident Terry Lavergne said.

The Walmart supermarket was evacuated following the crash, KATC News reported.
