The AT&T-owned company hopes for early adoption of the new streamer, which the brand will "aggressively market", projecting a global user base to reach up to 90 million by 2025, including 50 million in the USA alone, The Drum reports. The service grew out of AT&T's $81 billion purchase of Time Warner, which AT&T overhauled and rechristened WarnerMedia. They presented HBO Max as a more curated product with premium programming. It will be the most expensive of the new services that have announced prices, which could make it challenging to expand its customer base. The series is now available to stream on Hulu, but that will change in June 2020 with the show's arrival on HBO Max, the upcoming video streaming service from AT&T's WarnerMedia. If you signed up through Amazon Prime Video or through another third party like Apple, there's a chance that you might be able to get a free subscription, but WarnerMedia is still hashing out possible deals with those companies, and it could easily fall through and leave you having to get a new subscription.
The company wants to reach 50 million USA subscribers by 2025.
And as one of the latest entries in the streaming wars, HBO Max will be competing for household dollars that may have already been allocated to rivals.
The service will offer movies and programs from HBO and the WarnerMedia library, including "Friends", which it will pull back from Netflix.
IPhone 5 iOS 10.3.4 update necessary to continue working
It was also the year where people were queuing around the clock to get their hands on the brand-new iPhone 5. In July of this year, Apple has released an update with bug fixes for the old iOS and iOS 10.3.4 9.3.6.
It's aiming for kids with "Sesame Street" and an Elmo talk show. They included the entire collection of DC Universe superhero film franchises from the last decade such as "Batman" and recent box office hits such as "Joker" that will be available within the first year of its launch.
Adult Swim launched in 2001, is Turner's network offering original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults. The service won't release a season's worth of episodes all at once, as Netflix typically does.
The CW's shows like The Flash and other Arrowverse shows will also be available on HBO Max. The new details come just ahead of two other new subscription VOD arrivals - Apple TV Plus (Nov. 1) and Disney Plus (Nov. 12) - with everyone angling to claim territory dominated today by Netflix. Netflix will spend $15 billion this year alone on shows and movies.
"We couldn't achieve this without AT&T's unprecedented and enthusiastic support", the executive also said.
