Man stabbed to death over chicken sandwich at Maryland Popeyes

The man waiting in line at Popeyes in Prince George's County, Maryland Monday night was involved in an altercation when either someone cut in front of him or he cut in front of someone else.

According to reports by local news stations, it was around 7:00 p.m. on Monday when two men who were standing in line at a restaurant in Prince George's County got into an argument.

Officers were called to the scene for a report of a fight, and when they arrived they found a 28-year-old man in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds.

Local media have reported the stabbing was the result of a fight over the restaurant's popular chicken sandwich, but investigators have used noncommittal language to describe the case so far.

He succumbed to his injuries in hospital and died around 50 minutes after the stabbing.

Law enforcement is now looking into the fatal incident and has asked that anyone with information about the suspect at large, including patrons who witnessed everything go down, come forward.

A recent BC government survey saw 93%, or 225,000 people, indicate their support for a permanent move to daylight time. Premier John Horgan recently discussed the possibility of abandoning the time change with Washington state Gov.

"We are looking for a male, and that male knows who he is", Donelan said.

"For you to get that angry over anything ... and to develop into this type of violence, again, is a very sad and tragic day."
"He knows what he did here tonight, and he needs to do the right thing and he needs to step up and turn himself in".

Popeyes franchisees hired more staff to cope with the return of its hit spicy chicken sandwich.

The sandwich, which retails for $3.99 according to Forbes and other outlets, developed a cult following, with some people dressing up as the meal for Halloween.

As of Tuesday morning, Popeyes had not released a statement in response to the tragedy.

The altercation, which started inside of the Popeyes, spilled outside where the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim.
