Joaquin Phoenix's 'Joker' Is Now The Most Profitable Comic Book Film

'Joker' - starring Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character - has officially nabbed the title of most profitable comic book movie of all time. So here's one more: According to the math cooked up by Forbes, the stand-alone spin-off about Batman's most preferred baddie is now the most lucrative comic guide movie ever created.

As per a Forbes article, the film has grossed $304.2 million in North America after five weeks of its release, bringing up the global total to $953 million.

Todd Phillips' Joker movie has been a huge hit this year. Currently, the third-most profitable comic book movie is Venom, the fourth is Batman, and the fifth is Deadpool.

While other comic-based movies do have grossed more than the movie, however, the movie's budget which was Dollars 62.5 million, was taken into consideration. With a production budget of $62.5 million, that means Joker will have earned 15.3 times what it cost to make.

And now, in its fifth week of release, the R-rated Warner Bros. release, directed by Todd Phillips, is not only approaching $1 billion worldwide but is now the most profitable comic book film of all time.
