College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings Released, CFP Standings 11/12

Last week, the first College Football Playoff top 25 rankings were released, and the Longhorns were not listed. The Tide plays at Auburn in a few weeks, and that would be a great win for Bama.

Watch as they react to the rankings. Alabama was a 12-1 SEC champion. Minnesota beat Penn State. The committee either needs to make an "eye-test" call to put the Crimson Tide among the top-4 teams, or other playoff hopefuls need to lose.

The committee rewarded Minnesota after its 31-26 win over previously No. 4-ranked Penn State by moving it up nine spots to No. 8.

The Golden Gophers are now sitting on a 9-0 record, but were ranked eighth by College Football Playoff Committee and seventh in the Associated Press' Top 25 poll. According to the poll's ranking system, the score of 244 would equate the Gophers being ranked 144 percent higher than the average teams that fans chose from.

Minnesota is only one spot ahead of team they beat.

To reiterate, any team good enough to offer tangible evidence as a P5 champion should be in the freaking playoff. Penn State moved down to 9th, one spot behind the team that handed the Nittany Lions their first loss, Minnesota.

Alex Trebek gets emotional after touching 'Final Jeopardy' answer
In an interview with CTV News , Trebek said that he would continue hosting the show "as long as my skills do not diminish". When Trebek saw that Gaur gave up almost all of his remaining $2,000 on the incorrect answer.

Teams like LSU, Ohio State and Clemson could solidify their spots in the College Football Playoff as they attempt to keep their ideal seasons alive against three non-ranked teams in week 12.

"There's a lot of discussion about all the teams in that pool", he said, "and the separator for Georgia in that pool was their two wins against top-20 teams". Without that, Alabama beating Auburn wouldn't look all that impressive, considering that would be the Tigers' fourth loss of the. "We're aware of the SC loss for Georgia and that Alabama's loss was against a team that was ranked No. 1, so that's clearly on the board when we're comparing them", Mullens said.

Maybe the most comparable team to Alabama from previous years is Ohio State in 2015.

Those Buckeyes lost a November game at home to Michigan State on a last-second field goal. Oklahoma earned its way in by winning the Big 12 without a conference championship game, but with four victories against teams in the committee's final top 25.

It's hard to project ahead what the committee will do next with Alabama. The game will be televised on ESPN at 6pm this Saturday night.
