Bad Weather Causes Plane To Slide Off O'Hare Runway

The flight had departed from Greensboro, North Carolina.

A passenger has filmed the moment a jetliner slid off a runway after landing in icy conditions at a major airport in the United States.

All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the plane which is now sitting in the terminal, according to American Airlines spokesperson Ross Feinstein.

Several flights to and from Hector International Airport have been canceled because of the weather.

There is a band of snow just north and northwest of KC and it will track across the metro area between 8 AM and noon. This snow will develop through the mid-to-late morning, and expand in coverage and intensity through the afternoon.

Temperatures in Chicago dropped into the 20s on Monday and the entire runway appeared to be covered in snow and ice.

A plane slid off a runway at O'Hare International Airport on Monday, Nov. 11 due to icy conditions, according to WGN.

Chicago is expected to experience up to six inches of snow in the next 24 hours as a Winter Weather Advisory is in place.

One United flight departing for Denver has been canceled.
