The focus was to talk about the shows and movies that have popularized Mahatma Gandhi and Gandhism on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. PM Modi addressed the celebrities to take forward the principles of Mahatma Gandhi in a creative way, at the interaction, while Bollywood stars promised him that they would do so. "His thoughts reverberate far and wide", Modi was reported as saying.

Addressing the gathering, PM said, "The power of creativity is vast and it is essential to harness this spirit of creativity for our nation".

Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and other celebs applauded the efforts of Modi government in this direction.

Among others present in the meeting were Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, directors Rajkumar Hirani, Rajkumar Santoshi, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Nitesh Tiwari and producers Ekta Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and Jayantilal Gada.

Shah Rukh Khan said he feels that there is a need to reintroduce Mahatma Gandhi to India and the world. The film industry can get self-obsessed and it is important we create work that sends out messages.

During the interaction, the Prime Minister appealed to the members of the film industry to visit the museum established in Dandi, in honour of Mahatma Gandhi. I want to appreciate the PM for thinking about this effort.
