The Jalen Ramsey saga is over, and for the Philadelphia Eagles, it'll be questions of what could have been, after Adam Schefter just reported that the Jaguars are trading Ramsey to the LA Rams for two first-round picks and another mid-round selection.
The Jaguars haven't exactly hit on their first-round picks under Caldwell and Coughlin.
The Rams send the first round picks of the Jags in 2020 and 2021, as well as a fourth round pick in 2021 as part of the deal.
It capped a stunning exit from the Jaguars, the franchise that drafted Ramsey fifth overall in 2016, a year that also netted Myles Jack and Yannick Ngakoue.
Ramsey, who turns 25 next week, in three previous seasons has been named to the Pro Bowl twice and in 2017 was named a first-team all-pro. Peters showed flashes of being a good cornerback in Los Angeles, but he lacked the consistency of an elite defender.
But his attitude and availability had both diminished by the week.
Russia's Putin visits Saudi Arabia on Mideast trip
Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Russia's Gazprom is interested in cooperating with Saudi firms on natural gas. Putin praised King Salman's efforts at maintaining relations, noting the monarch's 2017 trip to Moscow.
In fact, despite not playing in the past several games, Ramsey did not miss a single paycheck. That was a reality that frustrated some of the teams that had called the Jaguars, believing they were motivated to trade Ramsey initially and then suddenly not motivated when Khan took the controls. In that game, Ramsey got into a shouting match with head coach Doug Marrone, who refused Ramsey's request to throw a challenge flag on a catch that was made by DeAndre Hopkins.
As it is, Ramsey is a bit of a hot commodity around the league with more than a few teams interested, so LA would have to blow the competition out of the water with an offer.
Ramsey had previously asked to be traded after the Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans.
Owner Shad Khan publicly said last week that he felt Ramsey would play in Sunday's game against the Saints.
For all of Ramsey's undeniable talent, his sometimes boorish and combustible personality made things hard at times.
