Elizabeth Warren raises $24.6 million in third quarter

On Friday, the Warren campaign announced a almost $25 million fundraising figure for the third quarter, just shy of Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders' take, but well ahead of Biden's $15 million haul.

"This means our grassroots movement is in an incredible position - to double down on our investments in grassroots organizing, to keep getting Elizabeth's plans for big, structural change in front of more caucus-goers and voters, and to bring more people into this fight", Warren's campaign said in a statement.

Senator Elizabeth Warren is now leading former Vice President Joe Biden by 4% in a new national poll. Doug Jones and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in 2016, McDaniels was hired by the Warren campaign in January, shortly after Warren declared interested in the Democratic nomination.

Meanwhile, President Trump is outpacing the Democratic field, raking in a whopping $125 million for his campaign, political action committees and the Republican National Committee.

Warren's support nationally has been steadily rising for months, and is now the highest of her campaign.

Candidates must file reports with the Federal Election Commission detailing their third-quarter fundraising and spending figures by October 15. The senator from MA, who's sworn off big-dollar donors, has $25.7 million cash in hand, the campaign said.

Earlier this year, Warren went a step farther than her rivals who have mostly refused to take money from corporate lobbyists, and swore off conducting high-dollar fundraisers.

Warren rasied slightly less at $24.6 million. According to CBS News, "the cash raised in the third quarter comes from 1.4 million donations". Biden, Sanders and Buttigieg did not revealed how much money is in their war chests along with their third-quarter fundraising figures. The majority of those donors - 300,000 - gave to Warren for the first time during that period, Lau said, for an average contribution of $26. But since, she has relied nearly entirely on online donations.
